Pay Park­ing eyed in BeGH

BENGUET Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal will soon im­pose park­ing fees.

Chief of Hos­pi­tal III Maria Imelda Ulep said the park­ing fees col­lected will be uti­lized to main­tain the perime­ter roads and pave­ment sur­round­ing the hos­pi­tal.

“The park­ing fees will be part of in­come of the Benguet Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal which will be re-ap­pro­pri­ated next year for our op­er­a­tions,” said Ulep.

Ulep, who pre­sented the pro­posal to the mem­bers of the Benguet Pro­vin­cial Board added with the ad­di­tional in­come from the park­ing fee, they aim to strengthen the med­i­cal fa­cil­ity and emer­gency ser­vices, op­er­at­ing room ser­vices and in­ten­sive care unit.

Ulep said the im­ple­ment­ing rules and reg­u­la­tions on park­ing fees re­main a pro­posal with only 54 slots as des­ig­nated pay park­ing area

Clients and visi­tors with of­fi­cial trans­ac­tions in the hos­pi­tal will be ex­empted from pay­ing park­ing fee.

The Pro­vin­cial Tax Or­di­nance no.15-176 was used as ba­sis in the pro­posed pay park­ing at the BeGH com­pound.

If the pro­posal is ap­proved, a park­ing fee of P40 will be col­lected for the first two hours and ad­di­tional P20 per hour for the suc­ceed­ing hours and an overnight park­ing P200.

The pay park­ing area lo­cated within the hos­pi­tal com­pound will be on a first come, first serve ba­sis.

More­over, all un­oc­cu­pied park­ing ar­eas in­clud­ing those as-

signed for em­ploy­ees, ten­ants, OJTs, Reg­is­tered Nurses on duty will be in­cluded as pay park­ing when des­ig­nated park­ing ar­eas are all oc­cu­pied.

As an eco­nomic en­ter­prise, the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment sub­si­dizes P30 mil­lion for main­te­nance and other op­er­at­ing ex­penses of the hos­pi­tal which has a P220M es­ti­mated op­er­a­tions costs per an­num.
