Teens nabbed over shabu, P6M ‘weed’ de­stroyed

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- The an­ti­il­le­gal drugs oper­a­tions of the Po­lice Regional Of­fice Cordillera (Pro­cor) net­ted P6 mil­lion worth of mar­i­juana plants in­clud­ing the ar­rest of four sus­pected shabu push­ers aged 17 to 22 in the first week of May alone.

PRO – Cor regional di­rec­tor Chief Supt. Ed­ward Car­ranza said 30,200 fully mar­i­juana plants were de­stroyed in Tinglayan town, Kalinga prov­ince from May 1 to 6, while three teenagers and a 22year-old crim­i­nol­ogy stu­dent from Abra prov­ince were ar­rested and placed be­hind bars af­ter two sep­a­rate buy­bust oper­a­tions.

Nabbed in the buy­bust oper­a­tions, mean­while, were iden­ti­fied as Paul Pan­gani­ban, 22; John Brixxe Brioso Cortez, 19; Lester John Agustin Gar­cia, 18; and a 17-year-old boy, all from the cap­i­tal town of Bangued, Abra.

Da­calan, a crim­i­nol­ogy stu­dent, was ar­rested in Si­na­pan­gan, Zone 6 in a sep­a­rate buy-bust op­er­a­tion, where law en­forcers con­fis­cated three heat­sealed trans­par­ent plas­tic sa­chets con­tain­ing sus­pected shabu and buy-bust money worth P1,500.

The three other sus­pects were nabbed in Barangay Macray of the cap­i­tal town and seized from them was one heat-sealed trans­par­ent plas­tic sa­chet con­tain­ing sus­pected shabu and buy-bust money worth P250.
