Pala­tong ES grabs sec­ond place in dis­trict math sci­ence fes­ti­val

AF­TER gar­ner­ing six ma­jor awards in the dif­fer­ent con­tested ac­tiv­i­ties, Pala­tong El­e­men­tary School grabs sec­ond place in the 2018 Dis­trict Math and Sci­ence Fes­ti­val at Mankayan Cen­tral School, Sep. 26-27.

The six ma­jor awards were taken by two pupils in the board games while the four ma­jor prizes were from the teacher’s cat­e­gory.

In the pupil’s cat­e­gory, Xan­derly June Dapi­awen gar­nered third place in the SciDama level III while Chris­tian Jay Pe­dro placed third in Da­math level III.

For the teacher’s cat­e­gory, Mrs. Cather­ine D. Soliba grabbed the first and sec­ond prizes in the grade six and grade five Strate­gic In­ter­ven­tion Ma­te­rial (SIM) com­pe­ti­tion re­spec­tively while Mrs. Ruby Ann D. Pa­cio placed sec­ond in the SIM for grade four.

An­other award un­der the teacher’s cat­e­gory was ac­quired by Pala­tong El­e­men­tary School when Soliba placed sec­ond in the Search for Out­stand­ing Sci­ence Teacher. Mrs. Vi­vian K. Guz­man of Suyoc ES and Mrs. As­san­dra Grace D. Ngin­sayan of Paco ES placed first and sec­ond in the said event.

The con­tested ac­tiv­i­ties in the said dis­trict fair were Math and Sci­ence quiz from grades three to six; Da­math and Sci-Dama Lev­els II and III; Sci­ence In­ves­ti­ga­tory Project Team and In­di­vid­ual (Life or Phys­i­cal) for the pupil’s cat­e­gory. The com­pe­ti­tion for Strate­gic In­ter­ven­tion Ma­te­rial (SIM) for grades four to six teach­ers and the newly added ac­tiv­ity for the fes­ti­val, the Search for Out­stand­ing Sci­ence Teacher were the ac­tiv­i­ties for the teach­ers’ cat­e­gory.

Soliba’s SIM en­ti­tled “The Mas­ter Con­trol of the Body” will be the dis­trict en­try of Mankayan dur­ing the di­vi­sion com­pe­ti­tion at Tublay School of Home In­dus­tries on Oc­to­ber 10-12.
