Palatong ES grabs second place in district math science festival
AFTER garnering six major awards in the different contested activities, Palatong Elementary School grabs second place in the 2018 District Math and Science Festival at Mankayan Central School, Sep. 26-27.
The six major awards were taken by two pupils in the board games while the four major prizes were from the teacher’s category.
In the pupil’s category, Xanderly June Dapiawen garnered third place in the SciDama level III while Christian Jay Pedro placed third in Damath level III.
For the teacher’s category, Mrs. Catherine D. Soliba grabbed the first and second prizes in the grade six and grade five Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) competition respectively while Mrs. Ruby Ann D. Pacio placed second in the SIM for grade four.
Another award under the teacher’s category was acquired by Palatong Elementary School when Soliba placed second in the Search for Outstanding Science Teacher. Mrs. Vivian K. Guzman of Suyoc ES and Mrs. Assandra Grace D. Nginsayan of Paco ES placed first and second in the said event.
The contested activities in the said district fair were Math and Science quiz from grades three to six; Damath and Sci-Dama Levels II and III; Science Investigatory Project Team and Individual (Life or Physical) for the pupil’s category. The competition for Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) for grades four to six teachers and the newly added activity for the festival, the Search for Outstanding Science Teacher were the activities for the teachers’ category.
Soliba’s SIM entitled “The Master Control of the Body” will be the district entry of Mankayan during the division competition at Tublay School of Home Industries on October 10-12.
