CBFC holds fut­sal for a cause

TRUE to their word of help­ing oth­ers, a two - day five on five fut­sal tour­na­ment will kick off to­day, Oc­to­ber 13 at the PFVR Gym.

Spear­headed by the Cordillera Bin­nadang Foot­ball Club, the fut­sal tour­na­ment will have four cat­e­gories for both boys and girls.

The fut­sal for a cause will be a fund rais­ing ac­tiv­ity for the vic­tims and sur­vivors of Typhoon Om­pong in the Cordillera re­gion and for the three chil­dren left or­phaned by the calamity in Kayapa, Nueva Viz­caya.

Kick­ing of the two day tour­na­ment is the com­pe­ti­tion for 13 years old and be­low for boys and girls, while the 17 and un­der cat­e­gory for boys and girls will fire off on Oc­to­ber 27.

Reg­is­tra­tion fee is at P500 and is still on go­ing. In­ter­ested teams may call or text coach Dave Fian­gan at (0938)4446778.

Ear­lier in May, CBFC also spear­headed a fund rais­ing ac­tiv­ity whihc gen­er­ated P83,390 from dif­fer­ent sup­port­ers to help ail­ing jour­nal­ist and dial­y­sis pa­tient Ra­mon Da­cawi.

The pro­ceeds were turned over by CBFC coaches to Da­cawi, a re­tired City Hall in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer, ath­lete ad­vo­cate, en­vi­ron­men­tal­ist and helper of the needy.

The tour­na­ment also ben­e­fited two par­ents of foot­ball play­ers from Baguio City Na­tional High school.
