Manabo police chief stabbed
AFTER trying to pacify a drunk person, a police chief in Abra town was stabbed.
Senior Inspector Harold Bernabe Alagao, 44 – years - old, married and currently the chief of police of Manabo Municipal Police Station and a resident of Poblacion, Tayum was stabbed during a party on November 4.
The suspect was identified as Carl Sotto Laureta, 20 – years old, single, unemployed and a resident of Brgy. Patucunnay, Bangued, Abra.
Investigation disclosed the victim was celebrating an occasion within their compound and was having a drinking spree with his visitors when the suspect, who was under the influence of liquor arrived and started provoking and challenging the group.
The victim tried to pacify the suspect but instead stabbed him on his left thigh and left leg and was rushed by the responding personnel of Tayum MPS to the Abra Provincial Hospital in Bangued for medical treatment and was later discharged.
Police recovered the weapon used while the suspect was arrested and was brought to Tayum MPS.
