Man­abo po­lice chief stabbed

AF­TER try­ing to pacify a drunk per­son, a po­lice chief in Abra town was stabbed.

Se­nior In­spec­tor Harold Bern­abe Ala­gao, 44 – years - old, mar­ried and cur­rently the chief of po­lice of Man­abo Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Sta­tion and a res­i­dent of Pobla­cion, Tayum was stabbed dur­ing a party on No­vem­ber 4.

The sus­pect was iden­ti­fied as Carl Sotto Lau­reta, 20 – years old, sin­gle, un­em­ployed and a res­i­dent of Brgy. Patu­cun­nay, Bangued, Abra.

In­ves­ti­ga­tion dis­closed the vic­tim was cel­e­brat­ing an oc­ca­sion within their com­pound and was hav­ing a drink­ing spree with his vis­i­tors when the sus­pect, who was un­der the in­flu­ence of liquor ar­rived and started pro­vok­ing and chal­leng­ing the group.

The vic­tim tried to pacify the sus­pect but in­stead stabbed him on his left thigh and left leg and was rushed by the re­spond­ing per­son­nel of Tayum MPS to the Abra Pro­vin­cial Hos­pi­tal in Bangued for med­i­cal treat­ment and was later dis­charged.

Po­lice re­cov­ered the weapon used while the sus­pect was ar­rested and was brought to Tayum MPS.
