Rosalina Bistoyong named officer-in-charge oF DAR
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Agrarian Reform Undersecretary Rosalina Bistoyong as officer-incharge of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella made the announcement at a press conference held Monday at the Malacañang Palace.
“The Palace announces the designation of Undersecretary Rosalina L. Bistoyong as officer-in-charge of the Department of Agrarian Reform, per instruction of the [President],” Abella said.
Abella said Bistoyong assumed post immediately after Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea designated her as officer-in-charge of the agency on September 8.
The Palace official said Bistoyong’s new position “will ensure the continuous delivery of public service.”
Bistoyong has been in government service since 1989. She has been with DAR as undersecretary since 2010.
Prior to her new designation, she served as Agrarian Undersecretary for Support Services Office. She also became an Undersecretary for the Special Programs on Agrarian Reform Stakeholders Relations.
On September 6, the Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected the ad interim appointment of Rafael Mariano as Agrarian Reform Secretary.
