Davao City’s Mur­phy Dale Nang­gan and Ivo Niko­lai Enot cap­tured the first gold medals in ath­let­ics and swim­ming in the open­ing of all games of the 21st Milo Lit­tle Olympics Min­danao Leg Satur­day at the Don Gre­go­rio Pe­laez Sports Cen­ter.

Nang­gan, a pride of Santo Nino CEC of Davao City, snagged the gold in the ele­men­tary girls 800-me­ter run.

She clocked two min­utes and 50 sec­onds, best­ing clos­est pur­suer Mar­jorie Tenorio of Ig­pit Ele­men­tary School.

Tenorio set­tled sec­ond place with three min­utes and four sec­onds, while Mhyca Joy Laquina of Bu­lua Cen­tral School fol­lowed third by a sec­ond dif­fer­ence.

Elot of Cole­gio de San Ig­na­cio of Davao City won the first gold in swim­ming af­ter a tight race against Ger­ald Em­manuel Banares.

The 12-year-old Elot clocked two min­utes and 23 sec­onds and de­feated fel­low Davaweno Banares by a hair­line.

Banares set­tled sec­ond, while Rain An­drei Tu­mu­lac of Visayan Vil­lage Cen­tral Ele­men­tary School fin­ished third with two min­utes and 37 sec­onds.

In other re­sults in ath­let­ics, Shan Mark Sumpong of Ig­pit Ele­men­tary School dom­i­nated the ele­men­tary boys 800-me­ter run.
