'DvDo DtKletes win first golds in DtKletiFs swimming events
Davao City’s Murphy Dale Nanggan and Ivo Nikolai Enot captured the first gold medals in athletics and swimming in the opening of all games of the 21st Milo Little Olympics Mindanao Leg Saturday at the Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center.
Nanggan, a pride of Santo Nino CEC of Davao City, snagged the gold in the elementary girls 800-meter run.
She clocked two minutes and 50 seconds, besting closest pursuer Marjorie Tenorio of Igpit Elementary School.
Tenorio settled second place with three minutes and four seconds, while Mhyca Joy Laquina of Bulua Central School followed third by a second difference.
Elot of Colegio de San Ignacio of Davao City won the first gold in swimming after a tight race against Gerald Emmanuel Banares.
The 12-year-old Elot clocked two minutes and 23 seconds and defeated fellow Davaweno Banares by a hairline.
Banares settled second, while Rain Andrei Tumulac of Visayan Village Central Elementary School finished third with two minutes and 37 seconds.
In other results in athletics, Shan Mark Sumpong of Igpit Elementary School dominated the elementary boys 800-meter run.
