Wil­son 3X3 caging today at St. Mary’s

MORE than 60 teams from all over Min­danao are join­ing the start of the Wil­son 3X3 bas­ket­ball chal­lenge Ca­gayan de Oro leg set at the St. Mary’s Academy gym in Bgry. Car­men.

Ac­cord­ing to lo­cal or­ga­nizer James Racines the teams are are from as far as Zam­boanga City to join the two-day tournament or­ganzed by Mo­ti­va­tion Builds Cham­pi­ons (MBC) group.

MBC head coach Goy Ba­gares and Wil­son Brand Man­ager Er­rol Eli­canal will be the guest of honor dur­ing the brief open­ing cer­e­mony at 8 a.m. Com­pe­ti­tion in the 18 Un­der (1999), 15 Un­der (2002) and 12 Un­der (2005) cat­e­gories will then fol­low.

Other com­pet­ing teams will come from Bu­tuan, Roxas Zam­boanga del Norte, Va­len­cia, Camiguin, Malay­balay-Bukid­non, and from lo­cal schools USTP, As­sump­tion Montes­sori School, Xavier High School, and St. Mary’s Academy. Cash prizes tro­phies and medals are at stake for the win­ners

The cham­pion teams will also qual­ify to the Wil­son 3X3 Na­tional cham­pi­onship in Manila. The win­ners and run­ner-ups will get Wil­son bas­ket­balls from tournament spon­sor.

Racines will su­per­vise the CdO leg with other MBC Manila coaches Er­rol Ca­jefe. Eli­canal, Earl Lud­wig­van Aus­tria, Khasim Mirza, Racines is a cham­pion coach of AMS. He led the Jaguars to the first and the only (NBTC) Na­tional Bas­ket­ball Train­ing Cen­ter Di­vi­sion II Sec­ondary ti­tle last year in Manila.
