ARELY missing the crown the last time around, BongMark’s Green Archers resume their elusive bid for the title against Pims Dad’z Gunners when the 2017 Ballpals Christmas League formally opens this afternoon at brgy. 24 covered court here.

The Archers’ clash with the dangerous Gunners at 1 pm is guaranteed to spark another exciting rivalry in the 40-up level dubbed as `Bambi Emano Cup’ to be followed by the 2 pm bout between reigning 39-below champion Surocca Duplexx and last season’s tail-ender Airon Gal’z Meat for the RACE Cup.

At 3 pm, the defending 40-up titlist R-ACE Lao Warriors will test the mettle of Romul’z Gold Buyer before the main tiff between 39-below runner-up Team Mutya against Team Madrigal.

“Adunay mga commercial players nga nadugang so, mas exciting tingali kining atong Christmas league,” said tournament commission­er Dodong Caballero, obviously referring to Janjan Babiera, Boning Biongcog, Waway Arocha and Big Boy Taboclaon, among others.

On Sunday, Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente `Bambi’ Emano will grace the club’s seasonendi­ng conference with no less than his MisOr team out to play a friendly match with Ballpals selection at 3 pm.

Host chairman Placido Floirendo of brgy. 24 is expected to assist the sportslovi­ng governor in giving out the `Allen Dangcal individual awards’ to deserving players of the last `Baby James Cup’ Fiesta Conference.

Past club presidents James Abucejo, Dandan Guevara and Bado Legaspi and barangay chieftains Gigi Go, Dolor No.9 and Fernando Abapo have also extended their all-out support to the long-surviving and time-tested Ballpals Club, which is one of the oldest and most popular ballclubs in the City of Golden Friendship.

“Without sa hilom nga suporta sa atong mga godfathers dili gyod magahom ni Stev Panaz ang pagdumala sa usa ka showbiz nga ballclub sama sa Ballpals,” the club president said.
