Oca to craft measures on use of firecrackers
Mayor Oscar Moreno will be sitting down next week with representatives of various law enforcement agencies to discuss whether to impose a firecrackers-ban or to just craft measures to regulate its use this holiday season.
Moreno will also be identifying designated areas where fireworks and firecrackers can be sold.
President Rodrigo Duterte in June this year had issued Executive Order No. 28 providing for the regulation and control of the use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
Executive Order No. 28 states that local chief executives are authorized to promulgate the necessary rules and regulations on firecrackers and other pyrotechnics devices within their territorial jurisdiction in conformity with the national standards, rules, and regulations.
