Oca to craft mea­sures on use of fire­crack­ers

Mayor Os­car Moreno will be sit­ting down next week with rep­re­sen­ta­tives of var­i­ous law en­force­ment agen­cies to dis­cuss whether to im­pose a fire­crack­ers-ban or to just craft mea­sures to reg­u­late its use this hol­i­day sea­son.

Moreno will also be iden­ti­fy­ing des­ig­nated ar­eas where fire­works and fire­crack­ers can be sold.

Pres­i­dent Ro­drigo Duterte in June this year had is­sued Ex­ec­u­tive Or­der No. 28 pro­vid­ing for the reg­u­la­tion and con­trol of the use of fire­crack­ers and other py­rotech­nic de­vices.

Ex­ec­u­tive Or­der No. 28 states that lo­cal chief ex­ec­u­tives are au­tho­rized to pro­mul­gate the nec­es­sary rules and reg­u­la­tions on fire­crack­ers and other py­rotech­nics de­vices within their ter­ri­to­rial ju­ris­dic­tion in con­form­ity with the na­tional stan­dards, rules, and reg­u­la­tions.

“Kung mag im­pose ta ug reg­u­la­tion, ki­na­hanglan you have to have ba­sis ngano mag-im­pose ka and the im­ple­men­ta­tion.
