Hor­ford car­ries Kyrie-less Celtics to 12th straight win

THE Boston Celtics faced the Toronto Rap­tors with­out their All-Star point guard, Kyrie Irv­ing, who suf­fered a fa­cial frac­ture the last game the Celtics played against the Char­lotte Hor­nets.

For­tu­nately for Boston, Al Hor­ford came back from his con­cus­sion and was able to spark the Celtics to a one point vic­tory, 94-95.

De­spite Rap­tors’ Demar Derozan scor­ing a game high of 24 points and 4 as­sist, he was against the league’s no.1 de­fen­sive team and was not able to make the game win­ning shot cour­tesy of the de­fense of Boston’s Jaylen Brown.

Five Celtics play­ers scored in dou­ble dig­its with Hor­ford bag­ging 21 points, Jayson Ta­tum with 13, Jaylen Brown with 18, Smart with 14 and Terry Rozier with 16 points while the Rap­tors Kyle Lowry scored 19 points and Cj Miles with 10.

The Celtics (12-2) will face next the Brook­lyn Nets (5-8) while the next game for the Toronto Rap­tors (7-5) will be against the Hous­ton Rock­ets (11-3). (SunS­tar Philip­pines)
