IPs, top pri­or­ity in Bukid­non schol­ar­ship pro­gram

MALAYBALAY CITY – The Provin­cial Gov­ern­ment of Bukid­non is now ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for stu­dent schol­ar­ship in state uni­ver­si­ties and col­leges.

The capi­tol’s Pub­lic Af­fairs, In­for­ma­tion and As­sis­tance Of­fice (PAIAO) made it clear though that the provin­cial gov­ern­ment will pri­or­i­tize ap­pli­cants from the In­dige­nous Peo­ples.

There are 182 schol­ar­ship slots for state uni­ver­si­ties and col­leges (SUCs), such as Cen­tral Min­danao Univer­sity in Musuan, Mara­mag town and Bukid­non State Univer­sity in Malaybalay City, PAIAO said in a press state­ment.

Ap­pli­cants will be served on a first-come-first serve ba­sis, it said.

The schol­ar­ship is open to the in­com­ing first year col­lege stu­dents who are res­i­dents of the prov­ince with a grade not lower than 85 per­cent in all sub­jects.

Ap­pli­cants must not be more than 21 years old, high school grad­u­ate, or those who stopped but never been ad­mit­ted to col­lege.

Ac­cepted ap­pli­cants will re­ceive book al­lowance of P1,000, and P2,500 per month for board and lodg­ing. Tu­ition is no longer in­cluded be­cause of the Free Ter­tiary Ed­u­ca­tion Act be­ing im­ple­mented in gov­ern­ment learn­ing in­sti­tu­tions.

Ap­pli­cants must bring a copy of their tran­script of records (TOR) or form 138/ re­port card.
