MisOr farm­ers get P13M worth of farm equip­ment

MISAMIS Ori­en­tal Gov­er­nor Yevgeny Emano on Tues­day, Oct. 9, led the dis­tri­bu­tion of some P13 mil­lion worth of farm equip­ment to farm­ers in the prov­ince.

Emano, who is a farmer him­self, per­son­ally checked on the dif­fer­ent ma­chines at the capi­tol grounds be­fore it was turned over to the ben­e­fi­cia­ries.

The capi­tol said at least P10-mil­lion worth of 55 ma­chines used for farm­ing and an­other 20 mod­ule live­stock val­ued at P2 mil­lion were also dis­trib­uted through the dif­fer­ent lo­cal govern­ment units of the 16 towns in the prov­ince.

Emano said such equip­ment are use­ful in plant­ing and har­vest­ing rice and other root crops.

He said this will also re­sult in high har­vest and big­ger in­come.

The capi­tol’s top of­fi­cial is set to pro­cure more equip­ment for farm­ers as agri­cul­ture is among the agenda of his ad­min­is­tra­tion. Emano said he wants to see farm­ers pros­per and im­prove the method of farm­ing by in­tro­duc­ing mod­ern tech­nolo­gies.
