Blue Knights rout XU Cru­saders

THE Ate­neo de Davao Univer­sity (Addu) Blue Knights opened its cam­paign on a high note af­ter rout­ing Xavier Univer­sity (XU) Ca­gayan de Oro City, 87-53 in the Je­suit Ath­letic Meet (JAM) 2018 Ju­nior Boys bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment held in Sa­cred Heart Cebu (SHS) Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 26.

The Blue Knights mainly re­lied on the ser­vices of their holdovers in­clud­ing Palarong Pam­bansa vet­eran Ion An­ge­les, Chris­tian Ba­calso, Joachim Weill, Isaac Go and An­dre Ne­bria.

But the pres­ence of their rook­ies Al­fred Ni­co­las, Javen Mag­banua, Matt Ori­belo, Al­fonso Cab­dari, Jc Adona, Migoy Castillo, Joaquim Ag­a­mon, Jef­fler Tras­mil and Jed De­los San­tos also left sig­nif­i­cant im­pact on their de­but game.

The Blue Knights were play­ing against Ate­neo de Iloilo Univer­sity as of Satur­day.

On Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 28, the Dabawenyos will face the big­gest chal­lenge of their stint as they are pit­ted against the pow­er­house Ate­neo de Manila Univer­sity (ADMU), which has the iconic 7-foot-5 Kai Sotto.

“We are here for ex­po­sure and ex­pe­ri­ence,” said head coach Jess Evan­ge­lio, as they pre­pare for the much-awaited Na­tional Bas­ket­ball Train­ing Cen­ter Re­gional Fi­nals slated in Novem­ber.

“We will just win every game to reach our goal,” Evan­ge­lio, who is as­sisted by Enzo Ni­torreda, said. ABM
