3 PDEA agents face dismissal for physical injury
An official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10) said the three anti-narcotics agents who were accused of threatening a group of taxi drivers at gunpoint and beating up three drivers may face dismissal from the service if found to be at fault.
PDEA-Northern Mindanao spokesperson Rosemarie Bajao said their office is conducting its own investigation after the arrest of their agents Ramil Salido, Randy Doliente and Jestoni Tubongbanua last Friday.
“We will dismiss them if it will be their fault. I don’t condone abusive agents,”Bajao said, relaying the message from PDEA-Northern Mindanao director Wilkins Villanueva.
The three agents and their former colleague Marvin Pabalante were arrested by the police after they allegedly harassed and beat up three taxi drivers and threatened the group at gunpoint outside the Fatima Subdivision, Pagatpat, this city.
The suspects were also accused of illegally discharging their firearms.
Police said the suspects voluntarily surrendered their issued long and short firearms.
Authorities yesterday charged the suspects with attempted murder, physical injury and multiple grave threats before the City Prosecutors Office.
“Kamulo na ang filing gihulat man gud result sa paraffin ug ballistic exam,” Senior Inspector Breccia Ruth Townend, police station 7 chief, said.
“Ang illegal discharge of firearm na absorbed na sa attempted murder pero mag-depende gihapon na sa fiscal ug unsa ilang final nga i-kaso,”she added.
