(PEEC), In­fra­struc­ture and Con­struc­tion Fo­cus Group (ICFG), EU-Philip­pine Busi­ness Net­work (EPBN) , the event con­verges in­ter­na­tional and lo­cal del­e­gates from pri­vate sec­tor or­ga­ni­za­tions, gov­ern­ment agen­cies, in­ter­na­tional em­bassies, and busi­ness or­ga­ni­za­tions to fast track the cre­ation of the Philip­pine Con­struc­tion In­dus­try Roadmap.

The con­gress also pro­vides venue to par­tic­i­pants to of­fer in­sights and dis­cuss con­struc­tion in­dus­try con­cerns such as pol­icy ini­tia­tives re­lated to con­struc­tion in­dus­try, a mas­ter­plan for the in­dus­try which will be im­ple­mented across ad­min­is­tra­tions, var­i­ous in­fra­struc­ture de­liv­ery op­tions to achieve in­fra­struc­ture ob­jec­tives, ef­fect of tech­nol­ogy in the fu­ture of con­struc­tion jobs, and the peren­nial prob­lem of bu­reau­cratic red tape and sim­i­lar chal­lenges in the in­dus­try.

Gath­ered in­puts from the in­dus­try shall be uti­lized in out­lin­ing the con­struc­tion in­dus­try roadmap, in line with the Philip­pine De­vel­op­ment Plan 20172022 and the coun­try’s big­gest, bold­est, and most am­bi­tious mega-in­fra­struc­ture plan: the ‘Build. Build. Build.’ pro­gram.

The event will host five panel ses­sions that will en­gage lead­ers and de­ci­sion-mak­ers of the con­struc­tion in­dus­try from the pri­vate sec­tor or­ga­ni­za­tions, gov­ern­ment of­fices, aca­demic in­sti­tu­tions of en­gi­neer­ing and ar­chi­tec­ture, fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions, in­ter­na­tional em­bassies, and busi­ness or­ga­ni­za­tions: Lib­er­al­iza­tion of the con­struc­tion in­dus­try; Ac­cel­er­at­ing Na­tion­wide In­fra­struc­ture Build Up; Op­por­tu­ni­ties and In­fra­struc­ture De­liv­ery Mod­els; Train­ing & Ed­u­ca­tion: The Fu­ture of Con­struc­tion Jobs; and What is hold­ing up our In­fra Projects.

The Philip­pine Qual­ity Awards (PQA) cri­te­ria for con­struc­tion will also be launched at the event.

The cri­te­ria were born out of a PQA Com­pre­hen­sion Sur­vey ac­com­plished by CIAP, Philip­pine Con­struc­tors As­so­ci­a­tion (PCA), United Ar­chi­tects of the Philip­pines (UAP), So­ci­ety of Philip­pine Elec­trotech­ni­cal Con­struc­tors and Sup­pli­ers (SPECS), Inc., Na­tional Con­struc­tors As­so­ci­a­tion of the Philip­pines In­cor­po­rated (NACAP) and other con­struc­tion or­ga­ni­za­tions to de­velop a ver­sion in­tended for the con­struc­tion in­dus­try.

The PQA is an in­te­grated ap­proach to or­ga­ni­za­tional per­for­mance man­age­ment and the high­est level of na­tional recog­ni­tion for ex­em­plary or­ga­ni­za­tional per­for­mance given to qual­i­fied in­sti­tu­tions in the pri­vate and pub­lic sec­tor, which is con­ferred by the Pres­i­dent of the Philip­pines.

Com­pa­nies and or­ga­ni­za­tions which re­ceived a PQA recog­ni­tion serve as mod­els for other or­ga­ni­za­tions that are on a sim­i­lar jour­ney to per­for­mance ex­cel­lence. They will also have the op­por­tu­nity to share these best prac­tices in pro­vin­cial/ re­gional pro­mo­tional ac­tiv­i­ties of the PQA pro­gram.

The Con­struc­tion Con­gress is also held to cel­e­brate CIAP’s 38th found­ing an­niver­sary. PR
