4 OSMEñA BACKS DISTRACTED DRIVING SUSPENSION

Saying that traffic management is his top priority, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña supported the suspension of the Anti-Distracted Driving Act until the public is properly educated on the new law. The suspension came after members of Congress called on the Department of Transportation to defer the law’s enforcement because of complaints from motorists. Osmeña, though, pointed out that distractions and two-wheeled vehicles are just secondary considerations in traffic congestion. He said most are caused by larger vehicles. /
