CIDG 7 nabs 4 men for drugs, guns

Four per­sons were ar­rested by op­er­a­tives of the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion and De­tec­tion (CIDG) 7 for al­legedly keep­ing un­li­censed firearms and il­le­gal drugs in Barangay Pasil, Cebu City past 5 a.m. yes­ter­day.

Seized from the sus­pects were five firearms and sev­eral packs of white crys­tals be­lieved to be shabu worth more than P100,000.

The si­mul­ta­ne­ous raids con­ducted by the CIDG 7 were au­tho­rized by search war­rants is­sued by Re­gional Trial Court Branch 61 Judge An­to­nio Marigomen.

It was part of the agency’s “One-Time, Big-Time” cam­paign against il­le­gal drug op­er­a­tions.

Ar­rested were Ray-an Cabasan, Gio­van­nie Aban, Jose­lyn Gabotero and Ker­win Aba­tol.

Sus­pects Joselito Abapo and Ike Vir­tu­dazo, how­ever, were not caught.

Se­nior Insp. Ed­win La­costales, CIDG 7 in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer, said that the sus­pects were al­legedly en­gaged in il­le­gal drug busi­ness.

Sus­pects will face charges for il­le­gal pos­ses­sion of firearms and shabu.
