The Mandaue City Government will give P25,000 as burial assistance to the family of Lovely Jane Quiño, who was beheaded by her husband in Consolacion town.

City Social Welfare and Services (CSWS) Office Chief Jessie Perez said that the City has provided in-kind assistance to the family for the wake.

Quiño, 24, a resident of Barangay Alang-alang in Mandaue, was killed by her 27-year-old husband, Dominic Pahugot, inside their house in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion last Oct. 8.

Pahugot was later killed by the police officers after he tried to attack them when they responded to the incident.

The CSWS sent a sack of rice, coffee and canned goods to Quiño’s wake in Alang-alang.

Perez said that CSWS will let the children of Quiño undergo a stress debriefing as they saw how their mother was killed.

“If no one can take care of the children, they can be placed under CSWS’ custody. We have a temporary shelter in the CSWS for orphans,” said Perez.

Quiño and Pahugot have four children. Quiño had a nine-yearold son with a former boyfriend. /
