Road projects top list of Apura’s ‘achievements’
Carcar City Mayor Nicepuro Apura cited road projects as some of his contributions to the city’s development in his State of the City Address (Soca) last Saturday evening in front of Carcar City Hall.
Apura also enumerated his administration’s contribution to the development of different sectors of the city.
These are the sectors of tourism, agriculture, peace and order, disaster preparedness and environmental protection.
Top of his list are the construction of diversion and bypass roads to help solve the city’s traffic problem.
Also in his list of achievements are infrastructure projects, including the construction of Carcar’s new City Hall, a multi-purpose building, covered courts in the barangays, a new public market that will open in November and the Carcar City College.
The school will not charge tuition.
He also cited the city’s purok system, which had received recognition from Malacañang.
Apura said he is contented with what he has done for the city in the nine years that he served as mayor.
“I’m very satisfied with my performance. Although naa pa tay wa natiwas nga mga project sa atong dakbayan (although there are projects that still have to finish),” he said.
These projects include the City Sports Complex and the City Public Terminal which is part of the Carcar City Center that he plans to build in Barangay Poblacion 3.
Apura thanked those who helped him in serving the cit.
Apura delivered his last Soca as part of the 11th Charter Week Celebration of Carcar. It was attended by Dir. Anthony Giles Villamor and Board Member Yolanda Daan.
“Ang kahimtang sa atong siyudad naa na sa maayong pagkabutang (All is well in the city) and that’s the moment of truth.” Apura said. /
