MANILA brand ECHO-store sustainable lifestyle recently opened in upscale Maria Luisa Road in Cebu City, along a new development called Streetscape.

The rich enclave welcomed the new natural and organic social enterprise, where the who’s who of Cebu gathered. They came to eat Spinach tortillas, organic arugula with mushrooms and even banana heart burgers.

Johann and Meyan Young, new parents to a four-month-old baby, and entrepreneurs for sometime now decided to bring the green and natural concept to Cebu’s hot market. “I had no doubts Cebu would catch on with the green trend,” Johann says.

Johann concocts the ready-to-eat food and freshly-made pasta sauces according to ECHOstore’s standards.

“We have mothers like me who look for products safe for babies,” declares Meyan. “I have personally chosen the lines we now carry so mothers can have an easier time choosing products for our babies, “she continues. ECHOstore carries many artisanal brands which are SLS-free and chemical-free.

For the men and women who love coffee they also brought in the advocacy house brands like Women and Coffee, sourced from women-led farming communities from as far as Benguet and Sulu. They also carry ECHOstore’s Honest herbs herbal teas from organic farms in Palawan.

“We are so happy we chose to open ECHOstore’s licensed store in Cebu,” says Meyan. “Our lives revolve around our little baby whose needs – from safe natural food to safe natural products – we now carry” she continues.

“It’s our middle ground” says Johann the carnivore. “I used to eat only meats and Meyan used to be just vegetarian,” he says. “Now we eat what we serve at ECHOcafe, and we have found a middle ground with natural organic choices for salads, pasta and even ‘silogs’,” Johann proudlyy says.y
