16 dazzling ladies vie for Bb. Compostela
SIXTEEN dazzling ladies from the municipality of Compostela in Compostela Valley province will showcase their wit, talent, and beauty as Binibining Compostela 2016 Coronation Night unfurls tonight at the Municipal Gym of Compostela.
It was learned that the competition was stopped years ago, but now the local officials from the province decided to revive the competition.
The finalist for this year's competition are Lianne Mae V. Occena (Aurora); Judy Grace Mosqueda (Bagongon); Sarjory Guday (Gabi); Jenieva Puri (Lagab); Irish Jane Cordon (Mangayon); Jocy Carillo (Mapaca); Gay Pajarillo (Maparat); Ivy Rose Libaton (New Alegria); Kimberly Dominguez (Ngan); Rhona Mae Goc-ong (Osmena); Aubrey Apor (Panansalan); Mae Ann Tampos (Poblacion); Leonela Pia (San Jose); Marriel Lastimoso (San Miguel); Aiza Alba (Siocon) and Ceries dela Torre (Tamia).
"The winners will serve as goodwill ambassador and role model for the youth," says Councilor Levi Ebdao, who is also the co-chair of the event.
Other members of the pageant committee are Councilor Myrel Bangcasan (Pageant Chairman) and Alvic Luzano, who handle the finances.
As part of developing more the candidate’s confidence, the 16 ladies also had its two-day Beauty Camp at Atlantis Pool and Bistro. The ladies were taught on Personality Development/ Elegance Etiquette Training; Catwalk Training; Learning how to ace Question and Answer; Fashion 101, and make-up basics.
The candidates also spent some time with students from Bongkilaton Elementary School in which they gave some school supplies and other goodies.
During the pageant night, aside from the major awards, Edbao said that other awards to be given are Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Miss Eloquent, Best in Talent, Best in Casual Attire, Best in Playsuit, Best in Creative Costume, and Best in Evening Gown.
Ebdao added the coronation is indeed an exciting one for they are big names in the entertainment industry who are invited to be part of the show.
"Bawal pa po talaga sabihin, lalo na yung names ng judges,"he shared, adding an element of surprise for the competition.
Organizers thanked the Local Government Unit of Compostela thru Mayor Lema P. Bolo ComVal Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, Arturo "Chiongkee" Uy, and Congresswoman Maricar Zamora,
Vice Gov. Mnuel E. 'Way Kurat' Zamora, councilors and the business sectors from the place also extended their help to make the event possible.
