31 former rebels rewarded

NABUNTURAN, Compostela Valley Province – Thirty one former rebels were awarded with immediate cash assistance worth P15,000 each yesterday around 10 a.m. at the Provincial Capitol, Brgy Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province.

Awarded by Governor Jayvee Tyron L Uy, the Department of Interior and Local Government of Compostela Valley Province distributed a total of P465,000.00 worth of checks to the 31 former rebels who came from the provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur and Compostela Valley. Said returnees range from ages 15 to 45 years old.

Minor former rebels were profiled by Provincial Social Welfare and Development head Josephine Frasco for their educational assistance. Provincial Director Noel C. Duarte of DILG encouraged the former rebels to come up with business plan as attachment to the livelihood assistance worth P50,000 which will be distributed next together with the firearms remuneration.
