The Department of Health 7 says 16,158 persons have fallen ill with the mosquito-borne virus from Jan. 1 to Oct. 1, 2016. That’s 130 percent higher than the figures from the same months in 2015. Their advice is to keep your surroundings clean and make sure there’s no stagnant water where mosquitoes may breed.
