Flea market to be reverted to trike terminal

-

AN ukay-ukay area in Agdao Public Market is proposed to be converted back to a tricycle terminal as part of the traffic management plans of City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO).

During the 3rd General Membership Meeting of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc (DCCCII) yesterday at Grand Regal Hotel, Ret. Sr. Supt. Dionisio Abude, Officer-in-Charge of CTTMO, said they are proposing new ways to lessen the traffic problems in the city.

Aside from major road detours, construction of overpasses, and road widening, Abude referred to their plan to remove the ukay-ukay area at the Agdao Public Market as this tends to gather crowds that stall traffic.

He said he already contacted the barangay captain and the economic enterprise about this concern and they had committed help with the project.

“All tricycles going to Obrero, Agdao, Leon Garcia will use this area as a terminal. All the passengers from the market will go to this waiting area,” said Abude. JPA
