TAGUM CITY - Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy and Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario expressed their commitment on the construction of the river basin by signing the pledge wall during the 1st Tagum Libuganon River Basin (TLRB) Summit on April 27 at the Tagum City Hall Atrium.
Governor Uy stressed his support to the programs laid in the master plan of the river basin, adding that this will uplift the lives of the people and enhance the collaboration of different sectors.
In the flooding incidents in the river basin areas, Del Rosario also emphasized that the Regional Development Council has already passed a resolution for the formulation of comprehensive master plan on flood mitigation in Davao del Norte and even urged Uy to also craft the same for Compostela Valley.
Del Rosario said that once this master plan on flood mitigation will be formulated, it might affect the comprehensive land use plan of the municipalities and cities.
According to the presentation of LTRB Council, the Tagum Libuganon River Basin is one of the 18 major river basins in the country and has an area of 2,374 square kilometer covering parts of Davao City and the provinces of Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley and Agusan del Sur.
