Dig­i­tal learn­ing for public schools

STU­DENTS of 60 public schools all over the Philip­pines will be get­ting ac­cess to dig­i­tal learn­ing, as the Depart­ment of Ed­u­ca­tion and Smart Com­mu­ni­ca­tions re­cently signed a me­moran­dum of agree­ment for the de­ploy­ment of 40 Tech­noCart and 20 School-in-Bag units over the next two years.

Cre­ated by Smart, these ed­u­ca­tional bun­dles – which in­clude a lap­top, tablets with ed­u­ca­tional apps, LED TV, a pocket WiFi with starter load, a so­lar panel for schools with­out elec­tric­ity, and teacher train­ing – will be turned over to the school-beneficiaries un­der DepEd’s “Adopt-a-School”.

Smart is do­nat­ing sev­eral units and is en­cour­ag­ing or­ga­ni­za­tions and in­di­vid­u­als to spon­sor more Tech­noCarts and School-in-a-Bag units, as these im­prove the aca­demic per­for­mance of public school stu­dents. Those in­ter­ested to do­nate may email Tech­noCart@ smart.com.ph
