184 drivers' licenses seized
LAW enforcers confiscated a total of 184 drivers' licenses due to traffic violations caused by erring drivers.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said their operation dubbed as Oplan: Lambat Bitag Sasakyan, which aims to clear the city of suspected carnapped and unregistered vehicles plying the street of Davao, netted several traffic violators.
Their operation kicked off at around 9 a.m. on January 12 and ended at 11 a.m. together with other security forces and law enforcement units of DCPO.
They confiscated 184 driver’s licenses and issued 63 citation tickets including one for alarm/ parked unattended.
DCPO also impounded 62 single motorcycles, four motorcycles illegally-attached side car or payong-payong, two fourwheel vehicles and one with detached plate.
“The said impounded vehicles were endorsed to each designated station for proper disposition,” Gaspan said.
They were issued Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOPs).
The operation was conducted in cooperation with Task Force (TF) Davao, Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) in the areas of Police Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10.
