184 driv­ers' li­censes seized

LAW en­forcers con­fis­cated a to­tal of 184 driv­ers' li­censes due to traf­fic vi­o­la­tions caused by erring driv­ers.

Davao City Po­lice Of­fice (DCPO) spokesper­son Po­lice Se­nior In­spec­tor Ma. Tere­sita Gas­pan said their op­er­a­tion dubbed as Oplan: Lam­bat Bitag Sasakyan, which aims to clear the city of sus­pected car­napped and un­reg­is­tered ve­hi­cles ply­ing the street of Davao, net­ted sev­eral traf­fic vi­o­la­tors.

Their op­er­a­tion kicked off at around 9 a.m. on Jan­uary 12 and ended at 11 a.m. to­gether with other se­cu­rity forces and law en­force­ment units of DCPO.

They con­fis­cated 184 driver’s li­censes and is­sued 63 ci­ta­tion tick­ets in­clud­ing one for alarm/ parked unat­tended.

DCPO also im­pounded 62 sin­gle mo­tor­cy­cles, four mo­tor­cy­cles il­le­gally-at­tached side car or pay­ong-pay­ong, two four­wheel ve­hi­cles and one with de­tached plate.

“The said im­pounded ve­hi­cles were en­dorsed to each des­ig­nated sta­tion for proper dis­po­si­tion,” Gas­pan said.

They were is­sued Tem­po­rary Op­er­a­tor’s Per­mit (TOPs).

The op­er­a­tion was con­ducted in co­op­er­a­tion with Task Force (TF) Davao, Land Trans­porta­tion Of­fice (LTO), Land Trans­porta­tion Fran­chis­ing and Reg­u­la­tory Board (LTFRB), Davao City Trans­port and Traf­fic Man­age­ment Of­fice (CTTMO) in the ar­eas of Po­lice Sta­tions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10.
