Dranhs posts 3rd victory
THE Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) posted its third straight win after routing Cabantian National High School (CBNHS), 55-22, in the resumption of the Escandor Cup Under 14 Inter-Public High School Tournament held at the Dranhs Gym in Matina, Davao City.
Dranhs kept its unbeaten slate, 3-0, in the league organized for public high school teams by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) regional director Glenn Escandor through SBP executive program officer Ronel Leuterio.
Dranhs head coach Ronnie Berato said the cheers of their supporters boosted their morale.
"May advantage din sa familiarity sa ring and mas na-boost yung confidence dahil sa crowd," Berato said while citing the exceptional efforts of Joven Deligero, Christian Gumapac and Jemar Pojas whom he described as their "Big Three".
Berato, however, said the team has more to learn considering some of his players are not confident enough to step up.
"Di pa sila gaanong nakalabas sa shell nila. Kailangan pa ng exposure and adjustment," Berato said as they eye to finish the eliminations with a perfect 9-0 record.
Dranhs, however, still has six games to play.
Meanwhile, Crossing Bayabas National High School demolished Bernardo Carpio National High School, 77-56, while Jesus J. Soriano National High School routed Dr. Santiago Dacudao Sr. National High School, 144-84.
Two games will be played today at 8 a.m. at the same venue.
