Dranhs posts 3rd vic­tory

THE Daniel R. Aguinaldo Na­tional High School (DRANHS) posted its third straight win af­ter rout­ing Ca­ban­tian Na­tional High School (CBNHS), 55-22, in the re­sump­tion of the Es­can­dor Cup Un­der 14 In­ter-Pub­lic High School Tour­na­ment held at the Dranhs Gym in Matina, Davao City.

Dranhs kept its un­beaten slate, 3-0, in the league or­ga­nized for pub­lic high school teams by Sama­hang Bas­ket­bol ng Pilip­inas (SBP) re­gional di­rec­tor Glenn Es­can­dor through SBP ex­ec­u­tive pro­gram of­fi­cer Ronel Leu­terio.

Dranhs head coach Ron­nie Ber­ato said the cheers of their sup­port­ers boosted their morale.

"May ad­van­tage din sa fa­mil­iar­ity sa ring and mas na-boost yung con­fi­dence dahil sa crowd," Ber­ato said while cit­ing the ex­cep­tional ef­forts of Joven Deligero, Chris­tian Guma­pac and Je­mar Po­jas whom he de­scribed as their "Big Three".

Ber­ato, how­ever, said the team has more to learn con­sid­er­ing some of his play­ers are not con­fi­dent enough to step up.

"Di pa sila gaanong nakal­abas sa shell nila. Kailan­gan pa ng ex­po­sure and ad­just­ment," Ber­ato said as they eye to fin­ish the elim­i­na­tions with a per­fect 9-0 record.

Dranhs, how­ever, still has six games to play.

Mean­while, Cross­ing Bayabas Na­tional High School de­mol­ished Bernardo Car­pio Na­tional High School, 77-56, while Je­sus J. So­ri­ano Na­tional High School routed Dr. San­ti­ago Dacu­dao Sr. Na­tional High School, 144-84.

Two games will be played to­day at 8 a.m. at the same venue.
