MEMBERS of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on July 29, Sunday evening, identified the chopped female body in a black garbage bag left in front of a pawnshop along Cabantian Road, Buhangin District in Davao City, Sunday morning, as that of a deaf-mute woman whose family was looking for her since Thursday, July 26, 2018.

The victim of the gruesome crime was identified as Margie Sapio Albarico, 31, a resident of Talomo District. She was positively identified by her father at the Angel Funeral Parlor.

DCPO reported that Sopriano Maturan Al-

barico, who is a carpenter in Bunawan District, learned from the news via a radio program at around 7:20 p.m. Sunday that a dead woman was brought to a funeral parlor. He went to check if that was of her missing daughter.

Before the chopped body was found, the father revealed that the victim left their house around 3 p.m. of July 26, Thursday, and failed to return.

A garbage collector, along with his other colleagues, discovered the garbage bag where the chopped up human body was placed in a transparent plastic cellophane at around 5:45 a.m. during their regular rounds.

The bag contained the head, both arms, both legs, and upper torso. The lower torso was missing.

DCPO spokesperson Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said the tracker team of the office and the Buhangin Police Station are still conducting investigation to establish the motive of the crime and identify the suspect or suspects.
