DAVAO ORIENTAL – Governor Nelson Dayanghirang bared that the plans for the province’s big-ticket inland resort development project that is set to boost Davao Oriental’s tourism has already been laid.
This project which is set to be erected on the sprawling Provincial Tourism Complex in the City of Mati is touted as another income-generating facility that is set to boost the province’s tourism, investment, and revenue-generation.
This, along with other programs and projects which have already started to take off such as the housing program for housing beneficiaries and provincial government employees, improvement of infrastructure development, tourism, and agriculture, among others, are among the projects that Dayanghirang plan to continue in his next term, if given a chance, he said in an interview as he officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) on October 17 at the Commission on Elections Provincial Office.
Moreover, he also intends to continue the conduct of his flagship program on peace and development called Nagakakaisang Lingkod-Bayan ng Davao Oriental Barangay Outreach Caravan, which now becomes a model peace and development strategy in the country for bringing all government agencies together to provide basic services to far-flung and conflict-affected communities.
Meanwhile, First District representative Corazon Malanyaon who is seeking reelection for the same post as a member of the House of Representatives has already filed her COC on October 12.
Malanyaon, who currently chairs the Congress’ Committee on Tourism, said that there are still a lot of things that can be done on tourism. Having secured the nod of the TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority) for the development of the Curtain Falls Eco-Park in Baganga, Cong. Malanyaon said this will add-up to the tourism attractions in her district and would complement further the tourism potentials in the second district, thus, would generate income for small businesses and revenue for the local government. /
