7 drug sus­pects slain in Bu­la­can

OLI VAS, Pam­panga - At least seven drug sus­pects were killed in anti-drug op­er­a­tions in Bu­la­can, Thurs­day.

Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Romeo Cara­mat, Bu­la­can po­lice pro­vin­cial di­rec­tor, iden­ti­fied the slain as Jose Noli Es­panos and Rey­nald Li­pana, both of Barangay Bi­tun­gol, Norza­garay town; aliases Char­lie and Dong, both of Barangay Mabolo, Malo­los City; Jun Ma­si­bag, a res­i­dent of Barangay Cain­gin, San Rafael town; and aliases Baba and Avatar, both of Barangay Ba­tia, Bo­caue t ow n.

Es­panos and Li­pana, tried to fire to­wards po­lice­men after they no­ticed their pres­ence and a brief ex­change of gun­fire en­sued, re­sult­ing in their death, Cara­mat said.

Re­cov­ered from them were two cal­iber re­volvers, four sa­chets of shabu and marked money used in the buy­bust op­er­a­tion, he said.

Char­lie and Avatar also traded shots with po­lice­men but were also killed after a brief fire fight. Re­cov­ered from them were two cal­i­bre .38 re­volvers, a sa­chet of shabu and marked money.

Cara­mat said Jun Ma­si­bag was forcibly taken out­side his house by gun­men and then killed him. Re­cov­ered from the crime scene were four spent shells and a de­formed bul­let from a cal­i­bre .45 pis­tol.
