MALACAÑANG admitted Sunday that President Rodrigo Duterte is worried with the possible retaliation of the terrorist groups during the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila on Monday.

However, Duterte is reportedly satisfied with the security preparations being undertaken by authorities, Communications Assistant Secretary Ana Maria Paz Banaag said in an interview on state-run Radyo ng Bayan.

"The President naman is satisfied and he knows na if there is something that worries him it would be the threat of the retaliation from terrorist groups," she said.

This was the reason why Duterte has ordered the security agencies to make the necessary preparations for the Catholic Church's event, which is expected to be attended by some 1.5 million devotees.

She said among the measures to be implemented include the deployment of signal jammers and strict prohibition for carrying guns.

"Iyong mga remedial na measures, ginagawa po ng mga law enforcers...They will do their best to protect our kababayans," she sai d .

The PNP has said that there was no specific threat during the Feast of the Black Nazar en e.

But authorities have been trying to thwart possible retaliation by terror groups, which are the subject of the government's operat i o n s. ( SDR/ Sunnex)
