Apalit eyes P230-M budget for 2017
APALIT - This municipality is poised to enjoy a P230-million budget this year as proposed by Mayor Peter Nucom.
This was disclosed by Nucom himself during an interview with Sun.Star Pampanga yesterday.
Nucom said that the local government is still in the process of creating the overall budget for 2017 which might play around the target amount.
“Magpapatawag tayo ng executive-legislative meeting para maeksplika natin ng maayos at madissect ng maayos, by this week siguro okay na,” he said.
Once approved, the budget will fund the various programs and projects of the local government for the development of the municipality and its people, he said.
He noted that one of the priority programs will be improvement of the education system, buildings and other facilities and learning materials.
Construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures will also be included such as upgrading and concreting of the bypass road in Bagong Pagasa Subdivision to ease traffic at the market area.
Around 1,300 additional PhilHealth memberships are also eyed to be distributed to indigent residents as part of the improvement of the health sector.
Nucom added that a sizeable amount will also be allocated on the social programs of the local government to aid needy Apaliteños.
Aside from that, the budget will also fund projects which will boost the delivery of service of the local government such as purchase of vehicles and rehabilitation of the municipal hall.
“Yung budget, kahit magkaano pa ang maapprove, equally yan madistribute sa lahat ng sector para sa common and inclusive development ng bayan,” he said.
