Authorities nab 2 big time suspected drug pushers in Nueva Ecija town
SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija -- Police arrested two suspected big time drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Magpapalayok here.
Police Chief Inspector Ranny Casilla, town police chief, on Tuesday said the suspects were identified as Ronnie Rivera,49, single, tricycle driver and a resident of Bernardo District, Cabanatuan City and Angeline Gedalanga, 42, married and a resident of Barangay Magpapalayok, this municipality.
Casilla said the buy bust operation was hatched Monday after the town police's intelligence operatives confirmed the alleged illegal activities of the suspects, with Rivera allegedly sneaking in illegal drugs from outside this town.
"This is a bit big operation because one of the suspects was sneaking illegal drugs in this town, coming from other areas, " Casilla said.
Operatives recovered from the suspect 12 sachets of suspected shabu with a total volume of 3.58 grams and estimated street value of PHP60,000, a digital weighing scale, the marked PHP1,000 bill and other paraphernalia.
The suspects are now detained at the town police's detention facility, as charges of violations of Sections 5,11 and 12 of Article II, Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law were filed against them.
