Au­thor­i­ties nab 2 big time sus­pected drug push­ers in Nueva Ecija town

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija -- Po­lice ar­rested two sus­pected big time drug push­ers in a buy-bust op­er­a­tion in Barangay Mag­pa­palayok here.

Po­lice Chief In­spec­tor Ranny Casilla, town po­lice chief, on Tues­day said the sus­pects were iden­ti­fied as Ron­nie Rivera,49, sin­gle, tri­cy­cle driver and a res­i­dent of Bernardo Dis­trict, Cabanatuan City and An­ge­line Gedalanga, 42, mar­ried and a res­i­dent of Barangay Mag­pa­palayok, this mu­nic­i­pal­ity.

Casilla said the buy bust op­er­a­tion was hatched Mon­day af­ter the town po­lice's in­tel­li­gence op­er­a­tives con­firmed the al­leged il­le­gal ac­tiv­i­ties of the sus­pects, with Rivera al­legedly sneak­ing in il­le­gal drugs from out­side this town.

"This is a bit big op­er­a­tion be­cause one of the sus­pects was sneak­ing il­le­gal drugs in this town, com­ing from other ar­eas, " Casilla said.

Op­er­a­tives re­cov­ered from the sus­pect 12 sa­chets of sus­pected shabu with a to­tal vol­ume of 3.58 grams and es­ti­mated street value of PHP60,000, a dig­i­tal weigh­ing scale, the marked PHP1,000 bill and other para­pher­na­lia.

The sus­pects are now de­tained at the town po­lice's de­ten­tion fa­cil­ity, as charges of vi­o­la­tions of Sec­tions 5,11 and 12 of Ar­ti­cle II, Repub­lic Act 9165 or Com­pre­hen­sive Dan­ger­ous Drugs Law were filed against them.
