CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) recently launched in Central Luzon the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) as well as the Regional Development Plan (RDP) for 2017-2022.

“This is turning our vision into a reality. This grand launching is important because the government wants as many people as possible to be informed of the plans’salient feature, which will translate into an increased awareness, understanding, and interest on the development plans,” NEDA Regional Director Severino Santos said.

Both the PDP and RDP seek to build a strong foundation for a “matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay,” anchored on Ambiyon Natin 2040.

“Through the three main strategies which are malasakit or enhancing the social fabric; pagbabago or reducing poverty and inequality; and kaunlaran or increasing potential growth,

the government commits itself to designing and implementing appropriate policies, programs, and projects for the next six years that will bring the Philippines closer to what we Filipinos envision our country to be,” Santos furthered.

Since there is still much to be done, the government needs all the support and help it can get from various sectors and stakeholders.

Santos challenged the public to be part, not only of the visioning, but also to work hard and serve as active partners for change in turning this vision into concrete actions.— Marie Joy L. Simpao/ CLJD/ PIA -3
