PSAU student: ‘I developed deeper sense of cultural identity for Asean’
MAGALANG— The ASEAN Campus Forum of the Philippine Information Agency Region III (PIA-3) at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) was described as enlightening by a graduating student.
“I was enlightened on what ASEAN is all about and I developed a deeper sense of cultural identity. I learned to embrace not just my own culture but also the culture of other ASEAN countries,” 4th year AB English student Trisha Aquino said.
She furthered that the forum did not only increase the cultural awareness of the students, but also provided deeper understanding on how does ASEAN work to improve and develop the welfare of its members.
“As a student, the best thing that I can do to achieve ASEAN goals is to be a responsible student and citizen of our country,” Aquino shared.
She expressed her gratitude to PIA for conducting this forum that seeks to educate students on various programs and ventures of ASEAN.
“The forum stressed that I have an extensive cultural identity and I am part of a bigger community. A community that works in unity and that is ASEAN,” Aquino added.
“As part of hyping the Philippine Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this 2017, PIA in Central Luzon will be holding campus forums in different provinces to educate and pitch support from the youth in this endeavor,” PIA Regional Director William Beltran said.
Prior to PSAU, PIA conducted ASEAN Campus Forums in Tarlac State University, Central Luzon State University, Aurora State College of Technology, Tarlac Agricultural University, Bataan Peninsula State University, and Ramon Magsaysay Technological University.
