‘Undas’ in Pampanga generally peaceful
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The observance of All Saints’Day in Pampanga was generally peaceful, said Pampanga Police Provincial Office Director Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta yesterday.
Accor di ng to Consulta, no untoward incidents or illegal activities related to All Saints’ Day were recorded by the Pampanga police for the whole day November 1.
He noted that while all police personnel were deployed in various cemeteries, public places and convergence points to provide quick response, they were only utilized to assist individuals and motorists.
“Gener ally peaceful naman. ‘Yung mga tao tahimi k lang sa mga puntod ng mahal nila sa buhay. May kaunting kasiyahan pero contained naman dahil nakipag-cooperate naman sila sa
mga pwede at hindi pwedeng dalhin,” he said.
Consulta added that the public also willingly submit ted the prohibi ted i tems they brought at the inspection area installed at the entrances of public cemeteries.
“Marami -rami din kaming na-confiscate pero karamihan knives lang. Siguro gagamitin nilang panlinis ng puntod pero binigay naman nila,” he said.
Consulta, meanwhile, commended the police all over the province for a successful monitoring and surveillance during the twoday holiday.
He said that with the combined efforts of all stations and the cooperation of the public, Kapampangans were able to peacefully observe All Saints’ Day.
