69-year old woman killed by 2 mi­nors

AN­GE­LES CITY — — A 69-yearold woman was al­legedly killed by her two gar­den­ers who are both mi­nors.

Flor­ida Ve­lasquez of Di­a­mond Sub­di­vi­sion in Barangay Bal­ibago here was al­legedly stabbed and stran­gled to death by the sus­pects, whom she caught try­ing to steal her jew­elry.

The 15-year-old and 17-yearold gar­den­ers re­port­edly came in for work on Oc­to­ber 21 and forcibly en­tered the vic­tim’s res­i­dence by de­stroy­ing its back door.

Chief In­spec­tor Aris Gon­za­les, An­gel es Ci t y Pol ice Stat ion 4 chief, said the sus­pects ad­mit­ted that they de­cided to kill Ve­lazquez af­ter they were caught in­side her house.

The po­lice of­fi­cial added that the mi­nors’ orig­i­nal plan was to steal some of Ve­lasquez’s prop­er­ties.

The sus­pects stabbed the vic­tim 16 times be­fore stran­gling her with a TV cable.

Po­lice found traces of the vic­tim’s blood in­side her room where the sus­pects took the jew­elry.

Ve­lazquez’s body was found by her ther­a­pist a few hours af­ter the in­ci­dent.

The two sus­pects are now un­der the cus­tody of the City So­cial Wel­fare and De­vel­op­ment Of­fice.
