CHANCE TO CHANGE

We are the reason why she’s always hot tempered. Having tantrums every day and destroy others when she’s angry. And all these things make her and us suffer more. We change her from the worse.

Nowadays, we experience a lot of phenomena in our country and also the whole world. The revenge of our mother Earth because of our habits is through climate change that has a big impact not only to us people but also to all living things on this planet. Because of the climate change we experience, unexpected weather behavior where there is disaster like super typhoon or sandstorm that strike us hard. Also we tend to experience big flood, tsunami, melting of iceberg, and rising sea level.

Here in the Philippines, we can now feel the climate change through El Niño and La Niña. El Niño affects us by extreme heat that can ruin our crops or livelihood and also to kill life, whereas La Niña affects as through diseases like leptospirosis, fever and etc. caused by nonstop rain like in El Niño, La Niña can ruin our livelihood and take away lives.

But it’s never too late to lessen the effect of climate change in the 3 ways we can change the world for the better.

First, be disciplined and responsible enough in every action we do. Think what will be the result in every action and decision we make. Through this we can lessen the climate change.

Second, learn to follow the 3Rs the Re- use, Reduce and Recycle. Having this in our home, office school and other facilities can avoid the burning a lot of plastic that can increase air pollution and worsen the global warming and climate change.

Lastly, join organization which advocacy is to protect our planet and lessen the unstoppable global warming and climate change. Encourage the youths to be one in saving our planet.

We can’t change what is done, however we can stop and lessen it through our hand. Make a move now, we can’t stop the clock to save our lives and planet.
