CSF rec­og­nizes eco-friendly schools and en­vi­ron­men­tal es­tab­lish­ments

CITY OF SAN FER­NANDO — In line with the cel­e­bra­tion of Na­tional En­vi­ron­men­tal Aware­ness and Clean Air Month, the City Gov­ern­ment of San Fer­nando through its City En­vi­ron­ment and Nat­u­ral Re­sources Of­fice con­ducted a Search for Sus­tain­able and Eco-Friendly Schools and En­vi­ron­men­tFriendly Es­tab­lish­ments on Novem­ber 24 at the He­roes Hall.

Dubbed “Pagkalinga sa Ka­likasan at Ka­pali­gi­ran, Kalig­tasan ng Buhay ay Makakam­tan,” the said con­test aims to rec­og­nize schools and es­tab­lish­ments who has best prac­tices in var­i­ous en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­grams.

CENR Of­fi­cer Engr. Anele David said the ac­tiv­ity also seeks to en­cour­age all aca­demic in­sti­tu­tions and es­tab­lish­ments to ac­tively par­tic­i­pate on en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues and cam­paigns of the city.

“Kahit sa gani­tong pa­ma­ma­raan man lang ay mahikayat natin ang mga Fer­nandi­nos na maki­isa at makialam patungkol sa ka­likasan ng sa ganoon ay maka­pag­bi­gay din sila ng kon­tribusyon up­ang ma­pa­natil­ing maayos at masigla ang at­ing ka­pali­gi­ran,”David said.

In an in­ter­view, Mayor Ed­win “EdSa” San­ti­ago stressed the im­por­tance of en­vi­ron­men­tal aware­ness. He be­lieves that even in our own sim­ple ways, we can show love and care on our na­ture to achieve a healthy en­vi­ron­ment.
