CSF holds tribute concert for LGU female employees
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— A tribute concert to all empowered female employees of the local government of San Fernando was conducted February 13 in celebration of Kaganapan 2018 and Valentine’s Day.
Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago led the distribution of flowers and chocolates to some 842 female employees of the local government unit and attached agencies including the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Education, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Commission on Elections and Commission on Audit.
The hardworking ladies were also serenaded through live performances of Filipino pop and R&B band South Border, home grown talents of the City band and Councilor Harvey Quiwa.
In his speech, Kaganapan 2018 Chairperson Jun Pineda said the activity is one of the highlights of the annual festivity of the Cityhood Charter anniver sar y.
“Tunay na hindi matatawaran ang inyong pagseserbisyo sa publiko kaya naman nais naming ihandog ang espesyal na araw na ito para sa inyo,” he added.
Santiago, for his part, said this is a celebration of love and gratitude for the dedicated women in the workforce who are empowered to build a more prosperous society.
“Dito sa San Fernando, bida ang mga kababaihan dahil isinusulong ng lokal na pamahalaan ang pagkakapantaypantay ng kasarian at ang kanilang mga karapatan sa pamamagitan ng iba’t-ibang mga programa,” the city mayor explained.
Also present during the program were Office of the President Communication and Social Affairs Director Sonny Borja and wife Boots Borja, Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, councilors Angie Hizon, BJ Lagman, Reden Halili, Tino Dizon, and Kaganapan 2018 co-chairpersons Alex Magsino and Robbie Hizon.— CSF-CIO
