26 year-old man ar­rested for theft

CITY OF SAN FER­NANDO - A col­lec­tor-de­liv­ery man of a pri­vate com­pany sit­u­ated in this cap­i­tal city was ar­rested by el­e­ments of the San Fer­nando po­lice for al­leged mul­ti­ple counts of qual­i­fied theft.

The sus­pect iden­ti­fied as Kevin Ma­narang, 26, was ar­rested by virtue of a war­rant of ar­rest is­sued by Judge Chris­tine Marie Ca­pule of the Re­gional Trial Court Branch 48 in this city for 140 counts Qual­i­fied Theft un­der Crim­i­nal Case No. 25247 to 25387.

Ac­cord­ing to this city’s po­lice chief Su­per­in­ten­dent Roland Ago­hob, Ma­narang was em­ployed early 2017 as col­lec­tor-de­liv­ery man of Silk-Pro Mar­ket­ing Cor­po­ra­tion, a com­pany based in Barangay Sin­dalan, this city and was en­gaged in the sell­ing of beauty soaps.

How­ever, in­stead of re­mit­ting the money col­lected from clients to the com­pany, Ma­narang al­legedly used it for per­sonal gain, par­tic­u­larly in bet­ting at cock­fight­ing games, Ago­hob added.

In the course of time, Ago­hob dis­closed that Ma­narang al­legedly ac­cu­mu­lated an un­remit­ted amount of more than half a mil­lion pe­sos re­sult­ing to com­pany man­age­ment’s fil­ing of cases which re­sulted to his ar­rest.

Ma­narang is now in the cus­tody of the city po­lice and bail for his tem­po­rary lib­erty was set at P24,000 for each case, said Ago­hob.
