CORE OF THE K-12 CURRICULUM

What is the goal of teaching? Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan - this line has become the battle cry of Department of Education to ensure in providing quality education to all school children. This has been embraced by the stakeholders for the past years. The central focus of education must be the holistic development of learners. The main clienteles are the students. Their needs are addressed and their interests are prioritized. Moreover, methods of teaching catering on differentiated instruction and multiple intelligences are valued in the k to 12 Curriculum to produce 21st Century learners. The heart of teaching is the learner who is ideally expected to gain the necessary competence to become globally competitive. In this way, they become active members of the community, and functionally literate individuals of the country as a whole.

As the department’s mission is to provide quality, equitable, culture-based, safe, and motivating environment. Amidst bulks of paperwork, due dates, reports and the like, teachers, school heads, administrators and other stakeholders manage to provide quality outcomes aligned with the Total Quality Management (TQM) framework. The slogan “Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan” has become their mantra and serves as an encouragement when they feel like quitting in their studies.
