4 AS IN EDUCATION
ALMIRA S. MENDOZA
When students learn more in school, they stay in the educational system longer and turn to be more-skilled and -effective contributors in the nation’s workforce. Most education policies focus on quality of school and students’ achievement. The right to education is not only the right to enroll in a school but also the right to have an education of good quality. Education must be described using the 4 As: Available, Accessible, Acceptable and Adaptable.
There should an appropriate number of classrooms with adequate facilities. Schools should protect students from danger or harm. School discipline has to be implemented in a manner consistent with the child’s human value.
Schools should have enough population of trained teachers, receiving good quality trainings and workshops with included topics on gender sensitivity, non-discrimination, and human rights.
The vision and mission of the Department of Education believes that students will greatly learn if they are exposed to a culture-based and childfriendly engaging environment. The school experiences they have will serve as their armor for future endeavor.
