Duterte anti-poverty pro­gram launched

The Na­tional Anti-Poverty Com­mis­sion yes­ter­day launched the Ki­los Sam­bayanan, the Duterte ad­min­is­tra­tion’s flag­ship an­tipoverty pro­gram.

Ki­los Sam­bayanan or Ki­los para sa Sam­pung Batayan is an ad­vo­cacy cam­paign by the NAPC for the ful­fill­ment of the 10 ba­sic needs of the Filipino poor.

These are food and land re­form, wa­ter, shel­ter, health, ed­u­ca­tion, work, so­cial pro­tec­tion, healthy en­vi­ron­ment, peace, and par­tic­i­pa­tion.

The pro­gram was launched in Del­pan, Bi­nondo, Manila – the place where then-Davao City Mayor Duterte launched his pres­i­den­tial cam­paign. Pro­gram hosts were Philip­pine Amuse­ment and Gam­ing Corp. AVP for Com­mu­nity Re­la­tions and Ser­vices Ar­nell Ig­na­cio and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary Mar­gaux Uson.
