Road re­pairs this week­end

The Metropoli­tan Manila De­vel­op­ment Author­ity (MMDA) has ad­vised mo­torists to take note of al­ter­na­tive routes as sev­eral south­bound and north­bound roads in Metro Manila have been closed to give way to the week­end road re-block­ing and re­pairs of the Depart­ment of Pub­lic Works and High­ways (DPWH) un­til Mon­day morn­ing.

In an ad­vi­sory, the MMDA said the road re-block­ing and re­pairs started 11 p.m. Fri­day and all af­fected roads would be fully pass­able by 5 a.m. Mon­day.

South­bound roads that would be af­fected of the road re-block­ing and re­pairs in Que­zon City in­clude: Boni­fa­cio Av­enue be­tween Mauban Street to Sgt. Rivera (outer lane); Mindanao Av­enue af­ter Tan­dang Sora fronting Shell (se­cond lane); EDSA cor­ner Roo­sevelt (se­cond lane); E. Rodriguez Jr. Av­enue be­fore and af­ter Green­mead­ows Av­enue (first lane from cen­ter island); and E. Rodriguez Jr. Av­enue af­ter Boni Ser­rano Fly­over (truck lane).

The MMDA also noted that C-5 Road near Lanuza Av­enue in Pasig City, still south­bound, is also closed to pub­lic for the week­end re­pairs.

Mean­while, three north­bound roads in Que­zon City were also closed for the re­pairs and re­block­ing namely: C.P. Gar­cia Av­enue from Univer­sity Av­enue to E. Jac­into Street (se­cond lane); V. Luna Road from East Av­enue to Kalayaan Av­enue; and Quirino High­way cor­ner La Mesa Dam Road (third lane).

The Mac Arthur High­way near Mon­u­mento Cir­cle in Caloocan City and Manila East Road in front of SM East Or­ti­gas in Pasig City were also closed to mo­torists un­til Mon­day for the road re­pairs and re­block­ing.

Mo­torists are ad­vised to avoid the said ar­eas and use al­ter­nate routes in­stead, the MMDA said.
