1 dead, 4 hurt in high­way col­li­sion

AGOO, La Union – A woman died while four oth­ers were in­jured fol­low­ing a col­li­sion be­tween a sports util­ity ve­hi­cle (SUV) and a tri­cy­cle along the na­tional high­way in Barangay Sta. Ana, here, Thurs­day af­ter­noon.

Chief In­spec­tor Sil­ve­rio Or­di­nado, Jr., La Union po­lice in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer, iden­ti­fied the fa­tal­ity as Glo­ria C. Yaris, 54.

Yaris was among four pas­sen­gers of the ill-fated tri­cy­cle driven by Bon Cris F. Ju­loya, 21, who es­caped with mi­nor in­juries along with his other pas­sen­gers, Ig­na­cio N. Padilla, 40; Gla­dys V. Padilla, 16; and Jofe­lyn G. Man­gaoang, 38.

Agoo po­lice took into cus­tody Ze­naida A. Raquino, 42, the owner of the SUV with plate num­ber MS 1867.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Raquino, who was driv­ing on the north­bound lane of the high­way, swerved past other ve­hi­cles, re­sult­ing in her hit­ting Ju­loya’s tri­cy­cle, which was travers­ing the south­bound lane.
