De Ocampo Me­mo­rial Col­lege out­lasted Philip­pine Mer­chant Ma­rine School, 102-97, in over­time, while St. Fran­cis of As­sisi Col­lege sub­dued Our Lady of Fa­tima Univer­sity, 72-67, to ar­range a semi­fi­nal show­down in the NAASCU Sea­son 17 men’s bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment at the San An­dres Sports Com­plex in Manila.

The Co­bras, who com­pleted a rare seven-game sweep in the elim­i­na­tion round in Group B, and the Doves will meet in a best-of-three semis start­ing next week.

Jhonard Clar­ito stood at the helm of the hard-earned vic­tory of the Co­bras with 34 points on 9-of-22 shoot­ing in more than 33 min­utes of ac­tion.

Clar­ito scored nine points in the ex­tra pe­riod, in­clud­ing a three-point shot that put the Co­bras ahead for good, 94-93, with 1:51 left, and three straight free throws af­ter draw­ing a foul while tak­ing a three-pointer with 60 sec­onds re­main­ing.

Dahrrel Caranguian added 20 points and Peter Manalang had 12 points for the Ron­nie Do­jil­lo­men­tored Co­bras.

St. Fran­cis rode on the hero­ics of Luke Parcero and Michael Cenita to slam the door on Fa­tima and reach the semis in only their first­cyear in the league.
