Lovers killed; bodies dumped at sea
BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bataeños are up in arms over the brutal killing of two young lovers whose violated bodies were found by fishermen floating off the waters of Pilar and Orion town, Sunday.
Governor Abet S. Garcia has since offered a cash reward of up to ₱500,000 to anyone who can identify the perpetrators of the crime.
It is believed the two victims, identified as Glory May Carbonell and James Carl Guzman, went on a date Saturday night at Wetland Park, a major tourist attraction in barangay Tortugas, Balanga City.
Chief Inspector Aylin Perez, chief of Bataan PNP crime laboratory, confirmed the girl was raped.
Perez added the girl was struck by a hard object in different parts of her body.
Guzman is believed to have died after being hit by a hard object at the back of his head.
Supt. Joel Tampis, Balanga police chief, said they already have a lead on the killing.
"We already have a suspect but Gov. Garcia wants to make sure we got the real culprit and not just a fall guy," said Tampis.
